Who Are You and Why Are You Doing This?

A NOTE: Welcome Back to the Hellmouth is very behind. Life happens! But it’s on hiatus, not gone forever.

Welcome Back to the Hellmouth is a slightly bananas idea I had to rewatch (for the third or fourth or fifth or seventeenth time, episode depending) Buffy the Vampire Slayer — exactly 20 years after each episode’s original airdate.

Yes, that means this will take seven years. Yes, I’m bound to screw up and not always watch each episode on exactly the right date. But it’s a fun goal and a long project and I am intrigued by both of those things.

As for me, hi, I’m Molly. I grew up in small-town Oregon, but spent most of my adult life (until recently) in New York. Most of my has been career in books, from my first job in kids’ books at Penguin to three years as a bookseller to three years of being a professional nerd at Tor.com.

By day I work in publishing; by night I read, watch every SFF-ish TV show I can make time for, write movie reviews for the Eugene Weekly (where I spent several years as the arts and music editor), make cocktails, and attempt to organize my life after a cross-country move.

Find me:
At Tor.com, mostly talking a lot about The Magicians.
In Eugene Weekly‘s movies section.

Postscript: None of this would exist without the talents and patience of the wonderful Outbox Online.

    Hello Molly Templeton,

I was wondering if you may plan to write about the archeology film festival in Eugene on the weekend of May 4th to May 6th. The list of films looks really interesting.

The film called, “On the Banks of the Tigris,” will be shown on Saturday at 1:16 PM.
My sister Marsha, who lives in Melbourne, made this film.
It was shown twice in Eugene last year at times when she was here.
Both times, well attended & enjoyed.

    2. If you’d like to have access to your critic profile and add reviews, or if you’d prefer to have our team do so.

    Hi Molly,
Stumbled across your reviews of your re-views of Buffy, and really enjoying them. Disappointed if you have had to call it quits, hope you may get back to them at some time.
    All the best,
    Jen.
